Top 10 ways to get an A+ on ur finals
With every tick of the clock, the most miserable part of the year approaches. As finals come closer, here are the top 10 ways to do well on your finals so your grade doesn’t fall right below an A.
- Proper time management
A good way to study for finals is to have proper time management. If you can’t manage your time wisely, then you will end up wasting precious minutes. Rather, if you use your time effectively, you will have a better understanding of the subject you are studying. One tip is to divide everything up so not only will it be easier, but you will also understand more of the material.
- Read the textbook
Another good way to study is to read the textbook. The textbook has the information that will be on the finals, so re-reading it will help you understand it more or learn something new that you skipped when you were doing homework.
- Go over your notes
Going over your notes will help because it is easy to read notes and if you are good at taking them, they will have the same information that is in the textbook, but in a more concise manner.
- Practice questions that will appear on the test using resources like Khan academy or the textbook.
Practicing questions that are in the textbook will make it easier to answer the questions that are in the finals since the finals are based on the materials given in class. There are also websites like Khan Academy that have lots of practice and are free of charge.
- Study in a distraction free environment
Studying in a distraction free environment is helpful because without them, it is easier to study more productively. That compared to being surrounded by constant disturbances where it is easy to go off topic and waste time seems like a much more effective learning strategy.
- Have a proper diet so you can concentrate on your finals
Some good foods to eat are nuts, berries, fish and eggs. Before the night of finals, carbs such as rice and whole grain pasta are also good foods to eat.
- Take breaks when appropriate
Taking breaks is important because if you study without breaks, you will just get tired and not be able to keep up with your goals. Therefore taking 5 min breaks after 30 minutes or so will help you get relaxed. This method is known as the Pomodoro Technique. Also during breaks I will warn again to not do anything that will distract you for longer than your allotted break time; so no video games.. Go outside or read a book instead of succumbing to the screen.
- Don’t procrastinate
Procrastination is really really bad when it comes to studying for finals because they will approach before you know it and that is not a situation anyone wants to be in. Therefore not procrastinating is important if you want to get the grades you know you can achieve.
- Have a proper sleep schedule
Having a proper sleep schedule is important if you want to take the finals efficiently. Having maximum concentration from a good sleep schedule will help your mind focus on the test, which will make it easier for you to answer the questions.
- Make a study group with other people
Making a study group will help you because you can get help from people in the same class. In addition, if one person in the group knows everything, they can just explain it to you and then you too will know everything.
