Experiencing the Pacific islands
An interactive experience celebrated traditions from Polynesia
Day three of Multi-Cultural Week showcased Polynesian culture with a Polynesian Dance performance during lunch.
The performance took place in the quad with a traditional Polynesian style dance with Tahitian music. Dancers also performed hula and used bamboo sticks in their dances while swaying along to Hawaiian rhythms.
At the end of the performance, students immersed themselves in conventional Polynesian dancing movements to learn more about the spectacular culture. The performance concluded with students volunteering to go up to the stage and follow along with the experienced dancers’ movements.
